Jan Falk. «Home?»

2023. Digital oil, Procreate

What's left of home when the whole world collapses? Empty space, cracks where yesterday there was life. No more walls and roof over your head, no more friends, no more favorite coffee shop, no more city or country. All that's left is what you hold on to. Your love, your hope that you'll make it, and the little suitcase you always took with you on vacation. That's all that's left. Where's home now?

Jan Falk is a queer, transmasculine artist. He is a self-taught artist, working in two directions that closely intertwine: abstract expressive art and figurative art focused on queer men and their inner worlds of emotions, sexuality, romance, fragility, and homoeroticism. His goal is to add to the visibility and equality of the queer art community, normalizing queer aesthetics so they are no longer considered to be «a queer thing only for the queers». He believes that queer art has to be as common as any other art, not just a niche thing or subcategory.
